Eti Namir
b. 1980, Artist - photographer, photography lecturer and curator. Lives and works in Jerusalem. Graduated with honors studies in curation and museology at the Israeli Art at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
Her oeuvre consists of staged studio photography – mostly analogue, medium format, black-and-white. Her work explores the boundaries of the photographic medium and its ability to function as a three-dimensional object in the world. She develops the films in the dark room, printing the images on diverse surfaces, such as cyanotype on glass; printing on flat stones and cotton paper using liquid emulsion, etc.
Treating photography as a tool for formal as well as thematic research and expression, her photographs address questions pertaining to identity, specifically Mizrahi identity, gender, and the body. The objects appearing in the works are often extracted from the domestic sphere and the world of fauna and flora.

סיימה בהצטיינות לימודי אוצרות ומוזיאולוגיה בבית לאומנות ישראלית.
גוף עבודתה מורכב מצילום סטודיו מבוים, אנלוגי, פורמט בינוני ושחור לבן בעיקרו. במסגרת יצירתה כאמנית בוחנת היא את גבולות הצילום ואת היכולות שלו לתפקד כאובייקט תל ממדי בעולם. יוצרת בתהליך הדפס נגטיב על גבי חומרים שונים: הדפס על גבי זכוכיות בטכניקת סיאנוטייפ, הדפס על לוחות אבן וניירות כותנה באמצעות אמולסיות נוזליות, פיתוח פילם והדפסה בחדר חושך.
בעבודותיה קיים עיסוק מתמשך בשאלות על זהות, מזרחיות, מגדר וגוף. האובייקטים בהם מרבה להשתמש לקוחים מתוך המרחב הביתי ומעולם הטבע והחי. הצילום עבורה משמש ככלי למחקר וביטוי הן צורני והן תוכני.
