In the creative process of Rivka Gilad, it seems that the photography
emerges from an introspective, inner movement. The focus is on the
inner experience. A moment captured through photography is more
an event of faces than a moment assigned to a specific time and
place. This attempt to capture them highlights the relationship
between the external world and the internal world, as the gaze
celebrates the ability to discern and differentiate between degrees of
adaptation and this inner tension.
This process manages to tell the story of the chosen material together
with the light, colors, and the unknown of the inner world. These are
charged photographs, combining intuitive knowledge with poetic
sensitivity, and creating a living space where inner and outer
landscapes meet.
