Rani Pardes
Rani Pardes’s works present us with a sort of hyberdization of different source materials and cultures, unified under a new and common language. His paintings and scultpures combine “high” and “low” art languages, and straddle the lines between the traditional and experimental. He flirts with the history of art and the cultural cannon, and through the imagery he uses and the modes of represenations he implements, places them into question, shedding news doubts on old frameworks, and turning the images we are so familar with on their head. His works evade pathos and romance and instead offer up a new interpretative dimension, one that is sensual, supernatural, and formalistic all at once.

יצירתו של פרדס עוסקת בהכלאות ממקורות השראה שונים ומתרבויות שונות אשר מתאחדות תחת ידיו לשפה אישית. העבודות משלבות בין "גבוה" ל"נמוך" ובין מסורתי לביקורתי ועכשווי. הוא מפלרטט עם תולדות האמנות ועם ערש התרבות, ובאופני הייצוג שהוא נוקט, הוא מבקש לשאול עליהם שאלות, להטיל ספק ולעיתים להפוך את תבניות הידע המוכרות לנו, על פיהן. הוא מבקש להתחמק מרה-פרזנטציה רומנטית ולהציע מימד פרשני חדש, תשוקתי ובעל כוח מאגי ופורמליסטי כאחד.
