Rotem Reshef
Painter and installation artist, graduate of Hamidrasha school of art (Beit Berl), and holds a Master degree from the Reinwardt Academie, Amsterdam. Reshef lives and works in Tel Aviv and in NYC.
Competing with the rapid pace of image consumption on digital media and art world, Reshef’s “ghostly” paintings wish to stop the viewer and engage him with the durational experience of immersion into an artwork. Often presenting the remains of objects, vegetation and body gestures that were part of the creation of the artwork and later removed, Reshef leaves “evidence” on the paintings’ surfaces, creating contemporary, painterly fossils, that present the duration of the creative process and the different stages of art making, from start to finish.

ציירת ואמנית מיצב בוגרת לימודי אמנות במדרשה לאמנות בית ברל, ולימודי תואר שני באקדמיה ריינוורדט, אמסטרדם.
העבודה של רשף נוצרת בעת של שיטפון ויזואלי וצפיה מהירה באמנות, ומבקשת לסמן עקבות של דבר מה שהתקיים וחלף, בין אם מדובר באובייקטים, צמחים או בפעולות גוף שנכחו על מצע הקנבס והותירו רק חותם רפאים.
בשנים האחרונות האמנית מתמקדת ביצירת מיצבים ציוריים גדולי מימדים, המכניסים את הצופים אל תוך הציור עצמו ואל תוך חויה רב-חושית עוטפת, במקום להותיר אותו מנותק ופסיבי מול ציור
