Jerry Sarig’s practice explores the topic of childhood; memories and her own early drawings inspire her craft. The examination of this subject matter in her art is also an exploration of the self, consciously and unconsciously bringing into expression the same imaginary childhood characters, time and again, although in different forms and textures. She uses embroidery, ceramics, acrylic and oil paintings, sometimes independently and sometimes in combination. Her works are a visual collage, mixing shapes, drawings, and threads.
Jerry has been a multidisciplinary creator for more than twenty years. Trained as an architect, she owned, designed, and managed her own fashion brand, JERRY, for more than a decade. Artistic expression was always evident in her fashion. However, after 17 years of working in the industry, she decided to embark on a new journey.ֿ Whereas in fashion precision guided her work, her art challenges this conception: unattached threads in her embroidery; unfinished borders in her ceramics; disfigured faces with disproportional mouths and eyes in her paintings; are all components of pieces that, although apparently imperfect, are presented as aesthetic artifacts. All of her works are made by hand in an almost meditative process, and using intuition as their mold.
Since her early days as an artist, Jerry became fascinated by her own recollections, scratching images in her notebook as they jumped into her mind and transforming them
into large embroidered canvases and metal-colored paintings. Her characters are ageless, genderless, fluid, inviting the viewer to stand in the space between memory and embodiment.

ג׳רי שריג בוחנת בעבודתה נוסעים של ילדות; זכרונוות וכן לוקחת השראה מציורים מוקדמים שלה ביצירתה. החקירה של נושאים אלו בעבודתה כוללת גם חקירה של העצמי המודע והלא מודע, תוך הבאה לידי ביטוי את הדמויות השונות שהעלתה בדמיונה בילדותה. שריג עושה זאת באמצעות שימוש בטקסטורות שונות. בעבודתה היא עוסקת במדיומים שונים כמו רקמה, קרמיקה, וציורי אקריל ושמן, כמדיומים נפרדים או בשילובם ביחד. העבודות שלה הם קולאז׳ ויזואלי המחבר צורות, ציורים וחוטים.
שריג פועלת כאמנית מולטידיסיפלינרית כבר יותר מעשרים שנה. בעלת הכשרה כאדריכלית, היא החזיקה, עיצבה את מותג האופנה, JERRY, במשך יותר מעשור, כאשר גם באופנה שלה תמיד ניכר הביטוי האמנותי. עם זאת, לאחר 17 שנות עבודה בתעשייה, היא החליטה לצאת לדרך חדשה. אם באופנה מה שהנחה את עבודה הוא הדיוק ,האמנות שלה מערער על קונסםציה זו: חוטים שאינם מחוברים ברקמה שלה, גבולות שאינם מושלמים בקרמיקה, פרצופים מעוותים ובעלי פה או עיניים לא פרופורציונלים בציורים שלה; כל אלו מרכיבים של השלם שעל אף אי שלומותו מיצד את האסתטיקה של יצירותיה.
