Zohdy Qadry
A visual artist, exhibition curator, and social activist, was born in the Galilean village of Nahf. At the beginning of his path, he studied music, but his passion and love for art led him at the age of 22 to study fine arts in Russia – in the city of Krasnodar, at Kuban University. After that he completed his Master’s degree at the Mukhina Academy, in the Department of Wall Art, in Saint Petersburg.
At first he worked as an independent artist in Saint Petersburg, and later returned to the country at the end of 2004. Since his return he has devoted himself fully to art – in his studio work and teaching in colleges in the north and in the country.
Despite having studied classical, realistic, and ecclesiastical art – his main attraction is toward contemporary art, and especially the Russian avant-garde of the early 20th century, up to the currents of post-postmodernism. In his works one can, and especially a dialogue with Suprematism but at the same time he also rebels against it...
Kadri has been presenting his art since 2002 in the country and in the world.
The book “On Palestinian Abstraction: Zohdi Kadri and the Geometric of the Late Modernism Tune”, by Dr. Isma’il Nashif, opens a new and high-quality publication series focusing on contemporary Palestinian art.
The book includes two main parts: the artistic works of Zohdi Kadri, and an extensive research on Palestinian abstract visual art and the place of Zohdi’s art project within it.
The encounter between these two parts aims to create an aesthetic knowledge space characterized by its painful/pleasurable lab-like quality and at the same time its liberation
זוהדי קאדר
יאמן חזותי,אוצר תערוכות, ופעיל חברתי נולד בכפר הגלילי נחף. בתחילת דרכו למד מוזיקה, אך התשוקה והאהבה שלו לאמנות הובילו אותו בגיל 22 ללמוד אמנות פלסטית ברוסיה – בעיר קרסנאודאר, באוניברסיטת קובאן. לאחר מכן השלים את לימודיו לתואר שני באקדמיה מוחינה, במחלקה לאמנות קיר, בסנקט פטרבורג.
בתחילה עבד כאמן עצמאי בסנקט פטרבורג, ובהמשך חזר לארץ בסוף שנת 2004. מאז שובו הוא מקדיש את עצמו במלואו לאמנות – בעבודתו בסטודיו ובהוראה במכללות בצפון ובארץ.
על אף שלמד אמנות קלאסית, ריאליסטית וכנסייתית – משיכתו העיקרית היא לעבר האמנות העכשווית, ובעיקר האוונגרד הרוסי של ראשית המאה ה-20, ועד לזרמי הפוסט-פוסטמודרניזם. בעבודותיו ניתן, ובעיקר דיאלוג עם הסופרמטיזם אבל באותו זמן הוא גם מרד בו...
קאדרי מציג את אמנותו מאז שנת 2002 בארץ ובעולם.
הספר
הספר "על ההפשטה הפלסטינית: זוהדי קאדרי והגיאומטרי לחן של מודרניזם מאוחר", מאת ד"ר אסמאעיל נאשף, פותח סדרת פרסומים חדשה ואיכותית המתמקדת באמנות הפלסטינית העכשווית.
הספר כולל שני חלקים מרכזיים: העבודות האמנותיות של זוהדי קאדרי, ומחקר מקיף על האמנות הפלסטית ההפשטתית הפלסטינית ועל מקומו של פרויקט האמנות של זוהדי בתוכה.
המפגש בין שני חלקים אלה שואף ליצור מרחב ידע אסתטי שמתאפיין במעבדתיות הכואבת/המהנה שלו ובשחרור שבו בעת.
